Distribution Plan

To Distribute my magazine, I plan on posting things on an Instagram account and maybe even post something on a public Snap-chat story. By doing this, I can get views on my magazine and maybe increase the amount of people that are interested in it.  I could hand it out at school or church for free for the first two weeks it is released. By handing it out for free, people can look at my magazine to know what they would be buying in the future. I would want to give my magazine out to mostly teens because that is the general age group that would be interested in my content.  If there are a lot of people buying my magazine, I could maybe even increase the amount of production and start raising the prices in order to make more money. Maybe I could even give part of my earnings away as donations to an animal or homeless shelter. Then my audience would be more interested in supporting a specific cause when they purchase a teen traveling magazine.  It would be helpful t...

Traditional Distribution

Image
A magazine can be distributed to the public in a number of ways. Most magazine companies have a certain schedule for when and where they release a new magazine. Most magazines are  financed by  advertising , by a consumer directly purchasing it , by prepaid  subscriptions , or a combination of the three. A magazine usually uses the same standard sizing being  8   3 ⁄ 8  in ×  10   7 ⁄ 8  in (210 mm × 280 mm).   Some magazines even prefer to be peer reviewed. This usually gets done by academic professionals who know how to fact check and make sure that grammar is correct. Magazines can be distributed through the mail,  through sales by bookstores, newsstands  or other locations, or through free distribution at selective locations.  Non-Paid circulation is where there is no price for the magazine and they are just given away. An example of this would be street dispensers, planes/airlines, or maybe just a ...

Revision #1

For my first revision, I decided to add page numbers, this was an important addition because it was one of my corrections I got when I presented for my second quarter submission. This will make my magazine look more professional and organized.

Marketing Plan

For my Magazine, I plan on creating an Instagram account. I can post a few photos from my magazine on my Instagram just to get my information and content out into the world. Maybe if people comment, they can tell me if they liked it or did not like my photo. By knowing this, I can learn if there are obvious factors I need to change about my magazine, or maybe people already like it the way it is. This would tell me how the general public feels about my magazine idea. Although I wish that I had enough money to create hats and T-shirts, I feel like having an Instagram account is a good place to start.

Audience Engagement Post- Wander

Image
Wander Magazine uses the Internet to market their new upcoming magazines. Their website is easy to use, and is aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. A lot of people use the internet, so Wander has no problem obtaining subscriptions and other people to go buy their magazine. Wander Magazine also has a Facebook and Instagram that you can find on the website front page. They have pages explaining the latest issues, food, travel, and an about page. All of this information is offered freely to the public. I would want to have a website for my magazine because it will get my information out to the world and add value to my magazine.

Audience Engagement Post- Afar

Image
Afar Magazine posted this photo on their Instagram account. This photo is a picture of a spot where they suggest to viewers to go visit. It is described as an "Instagram worthy" spot. I like how Afar is using Instagram to obtain more views on their magazine. Posting on Instagram will attract younger viewers to the magazine and maybe gram a wider variety of buyers. What I would do differently is maybe use a popular app like Tik Tok or Snapchat. Lots of kids have one if not both of those apps, so it would be a helpful place to leave information about my magazine. If I posted a photo though, I would also want to post the location that the photo was taken in.

Audience Engagement Post- Arizona Highways

Image
The magazine Arizona Highways uses Twitter to sell shirts, books, and stickers. I like how the T-shirt can be for both boys and girls so that anyone can buy it. Although This shirt only comes in one size. It probably cannot be worn by everyone. If my magazine could sell clothes, I would want to sell baseball style caps with creative logos on the front. Caps can be worn by boys and girls, and they can be adjusted accordingly. Hats would be more efficient because they come in one size. Hats are normally not that expensive too.

In Design Class Activity

While using InDesign, I found that it was very simple and easy to use. There were so many options to make my magazine formatted however I wanted it to look. There are a lot of helpful resources in InDesign that can help me make my magazine as professional looking as possible. I felt like a real magazine designer while using the app. I can use this app to make format revisions with the placement of my articles. I plan on rewriting my article to add content to it, I am not sure what to add to it yet.
