A genre that interests me is a possible travel magazine. I am looking at a magazine cover titled "Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2020". One picture fills up the entire page with a few words and titles overlapping it. The picture is an ariel shot of a river with trees surrounding it. The title is written in white and takes up the top portion of the front page.

There are not a lot of words on this front page. The author does this in order to draw the readers attention to the photograph. The majority of the picture is filled with blue and green colors of the river and trees. This creates a natural atmosphere for the reader which draws them into the upcoming pages.

At the bottom of the front cover, it is says "The best destinations, journeys and sustainable experiences for the year ahead." Although it is written very small, this line lets the reader know what the magazine will be about.

The font of the title is in all capital letters and the the eyes are drawn to the numbers that are written the largest, "2020". As of 2011, the company had sold about 120 million books since the Lonely Planet had begun.

My Target Audience

The audience my magazine is targeting is for any ages, but the people who may be the most interested in it would be teenagers. This is because most of the content is bases on clothes and activities that teens like to use and do. Although any age group would enjoy looking through my magazine, teenagers could get the most out of my pages. Specifically, this magazine is for teenagers that are traveling and want to be with the current style and fashion of 2020. Most of the content viewed at in my magazine is based around more feminine styles and activities. This magazine will probably draw the attention of young teens that like to be up to speed with the latest trends.
